Chicken and potato tray bake is one of the most requested recipes. It can be prepared with many different marinades, and every cook has their own special touch or favorite flavor to bring out in the chicken. Serve with rice and salad, or with garlic sauce and pickles.

Ingredients

  • 3 kg chicken drumsticks or chicken thighs (or as desired)
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon seven-spice
  • 1 teaspoon chicken seasoning
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients together and marinate the chicken pieces in the seasoning mixture for at least 3 hours in the refrigerator, or overnight.
    Timers: 180 min
  2. Place the chicken with the marinade in a baking tray (and add the potatoes with the chicken), then cover the tray with aluminum foil. Place it on the middle rack of the oven at 200°C for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
    Timers: 60 min, 15 min
  3. When the chicken is cooked after the time has passed, uncover the tray and brown it from the top for 10 minutes, or as needed.
    Timers: 10 min
