Beehive Cake with Cheese and Thyme - Video
What’s to stop the traditional beehive bread from becoming a two-tier cake filled with cheese and thyme? A great idea, especially for children’s birthday parties :)

Ingredients
- The dough:
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 cups flour
- a pinch of salt
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tbsp powdered milk
- 1/2 cup oil
Method
- Mix these ingredients well with a spoon and let rest for about 10 minutes.Timers: 10 min
- Let the dough rest for a little longer, then start working with it.
- Roll out the dough
- Cut it into thin circles
- Place a piece of cream cheese inside each one
- Add one pitted olive
- Close the circle into a ball
- Arrange the balls in an oiled baking pan
- Then prepare a second pan, smaller in size..(if the first pan is round, it is best for the second to be round as well)
- Mix 2 tbsp thyme with 3 tbsp olive oil. You will get a thyme-and-oil mixture. Roll out the remaining dough and cut it into circles. Place a little of the thyme mixture in each circle and close it into a ball. Arrange the balls in the second pan greased with a little vegetable oil.
- Bake both pans in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the beehive bread is cooked through and lightly browned on top.Timers: 15 min
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and nigella seeds over both pans, and place the small beehive over the large one on a serving plate. Decorate the beehive cake as desired.
