Banana and Chocolate Cake

If you've already made the classic banana cake, try this version with chocolate and a sugar glaze! A wonderful combination.

Banana and Chocolate Cake topped with Sugar Glaze

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 4 small bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 150 g sugar
  • 120 g melted butter
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 50 g chocolate chips

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. First preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. In a bowl, place the bananas and mash them well with a fork, then add the egg, vanilla and lemon zest and mix.
  3. Add the sugar and melted butter and mix with a whisk, then add the flour and baking powder and mix well, then add the chocolate chips.
  4. Grease the cake pan with butter and flour and spread the batter evenly, then place it on a baking tray and bake for 45 minutes, browning the top slightly. When cooked, remove from the oven and let cool. In a bowl, sift 1/2 cup powdered sugar and add the milk gradually until the sugar dissolves and you have a smooth, thick glaze; add a little yellow food coloring. Put the glaze into a piping bag and decorate the cooled cake.
