Ingredients
- 500 g finely ground beef
- A few sprigs parsley, very finely chopped
- A small tomato, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice (sweet spice)
- Salt to taste
- Pine nuts for garnish
- Tahini sauce:
- 2 tablespoons tahini
- 1 tablespoon plain yogurt
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 cups (about 500 ml) water
Method
- Mix all the kofta ingredients well, then spread the kofta mixture in the baking tray after lightly oiling the tray.
- Score or cut into portions as desired, then garnish with pine nuts.
- Bake the kofta tray in a preheated oven at 200°C (about 390°F) — roughly 15 minutes with top heat and 15 minutes with bottom heat.Timers: 15 min
- Prepare the tahini sauce separately: mix the sauce ingredients well, then pour it over the tray and leave for an additional 15 minutes until the sauce firms slightly.Timers: 15 min
- Sprinkle a pinch of ground cinnamon over the surface and serve.
- Note: Adding tomato to the kofta makes spreading it in the tray easier.
