Ingredients

  • 3 cups coarse semolina
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/3 cup syrup
  • 1/3 cup ghee
  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • Syrup :
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • How to prepare the syrup:
  • Boil the water and sugar, then add the lemon juice with a splash of orange blossom water.

Method

  1. Rub the ingredients together, except for the milk, for about 3 minutes, then add the milk and knead until you get a smooth dough...

  2. Add a little tahini to an oven tray and grease it well on the bottom and sides, then pour in the namoura mixture.
  3. Let the namoura mixture rest for about 15 minutes, then cut it into lengthwise and crosswise lines and decorate with nuts as desired.

  4. Place the tray in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes...

  5. When the namoura is browned on the sides, move it to the upper rack of the oven and let it brown on top.
  6. Meanwhile, prepare the syrup.
  7. When we remove the tray from the oven, pour the hot syrup over it.
  8. The namoura must be cut before putting it in the oven.
