Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • a pinch of vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons anise (seeds)
  • 1 tablespoon nigella (black) seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Method

  1. Mix the ingredients together, add the liquids and knead into a dough.
  2. Shape the dough as desired, or form into rounds.
  3. Place the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  4. Top each piece with extra anise, nigella seeds and sesame as desired.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at medium heat on the middle rack — about 10 minutes.
    Timers: 10 min
  6. Brush or brown the tops slightly if desired.
  7. Let cool to room temperature before serving.
