Ingredients
- Ready-made baklava dough
- Butter or ghee for the tray and the tops
- Prepared sugar syrup
- Cooked cream filling:
- 1 liter liquid milk
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons chickpea flour or very fine semolina
- A pinch of orange blossom water and rose water

Method
- Mix the cream ingredients: milk, cornstarch, and chickpea flour while cold, then place the pot over the heat
- Stir over high heat until the mixture comes to a boil
- Add the orange blossom water and rose water and stir for 2 minutes until the cream thickens slightlyTimers: 2 min
- Let the cooked cream cool completely before using it for the filling
- Cut the baklava dough into slightly large or medium squares
- Fold two opposite sides together to form a triangle, then fill the pieces with cream at room temperature
- Grease a baking tray with butter or ghee and arrange the pieces
- Brush the tops with ghee or butter as well
- Place the tray in the middle of a 180°C oven until the shaabiyat turn golden on both sides
- Remove the tray from the oven and immediately pour the cold prepared syrup over the top
