Ingredients

  • 1 liter liquid milk
  • 7 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon orange blossom water
  • 1 tablespoon mastic
  • 1 package toasted sandwich bread (toast)
  • 2 cups caramelized sugar
  • Nuts for garnish

Method

  1. Prepare a baking pan: dip the toast pieces in the caramelized sugar and line them across the bottom of the pan, and set them aside to prepare the milk pudding.

  4. When the milk heats, add the dissolved starch and let them boil, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon orange blossom water.

  7. When the pudding is cooked, pour it over the toast soaked in caramelized sugar, let it cool, then place it in the refrigerator.
  8. At serving, garnish Aish al-Saraya with nuts and you may add extra syrup if desired.
  9. Put 2 cups sugar in a pot over low heat until the sugar melts and becomes light amber.
