Macaroni with Cheese

Macaroni with cheese... one of those practical, quick-to-make recipes! This dish is one a woman may need when she wants to prepare a meal that does not require much effort or time.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 bundle long macaroni, 500 grams
  • A pinch of salt and a little oil for boiling the macaroni
  • 100 grams butter
  • 500 grams Turkish akawi cheese, salty and slightly sweetened
  • A pinch of cinnamon

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Boil the macaroni with a pinch of salt and oil until it softens but is not fully cooked
  2. Drain it from the cooking water and set aside only half a cup of the water
  3. Rinse the macaroni with cold water and drain
  4. Place it in a pot over the heat with half a cup of the cooking water and salt to taste
  5. Cut the butter into cubes and distribute it over the macaroni, leaving it to melt while stirring when needed
  6. An hour ahead, prepare the Turkish akawi cheese: grate it and soak it in cold water for an hour or less. It should become half as salty and not completely sweet. When it is time to add it over the macaroni with the butter, drain it well.
  7. Add half of the cheese over the macaroni and stir until the cheese melts
  8. Spread the remaining cheese over the top of the macaroni, cover the pot for 3 minutes or until the cheese on top melts, and serve immediately with a sprinkle of cinnamon
