Meat with tomatoes and onions is one of the tastiest recipes, especially when made with tender shredded meat. It is served with white rice or eaten with bread.

Ingredients

  • Half a kilo of tender meat (fatila)
  • 2 medium dry onions
  • Half a kilo of ripe tomatoes
  • Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon seven-spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • A pinch of hot pepper - optional

Method

  1. Place the chopped meat, cut into small pieces, in a tray and stir it over high heat until it dries out and the liquid in it evaporates.
  2. Add the onions, sliced into wedges, and the tomatoes, finely chopped, and stir. Then reduce the heat, cover, and leave over low heat for about 10 minutes.

  3. After that, season with salt and spices and stir. At this stage, add half a cup of hot water if you find that the ingredients are dry or may stick to the tray.
  4. Cover the tray and leave it over low heat for another 10 minutes, or until the meat is fully cooked.

  5. Brown the top in the oven, optionally, then serve the fatila meat to eat with bread or alongside white rice.
