Ingredients

  • 4 eggs at room temperature
  • 1 1/4 cups liquid milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

Method

  1. Beat the eggs first with an electric mixer for ten minutes, then add the sugar and beat until you get a thick, pale mixture.
  2. Add the oil and beat, then add the milk and the remaining ingredients except the cocoa.
  3. When the batter is ready, divide it into two parts. Leave one part plain and add the cocoa to the other, then beat. If it becomes too thick, add a little liquid milk and beat again.
  4. Grease the pan with a little tahini, then pour in the plain batter and layer the cocoa batter on top.
  5. Swirl lightly with the tip of a knife to create a nice pattern when sliced.
  6. Bake the cake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 180°C for about 45 minutes.

  7. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool at room temperature before serving.
