  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3/4 cup Mirinda (orange soda)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda (or sodium bicarbonate)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 6 tablespoons cornstarch

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Beat the eggs with an electric mixer on high speed. Then add the vanilla and gradually add the sugar, beating until it dissolves.
  2. Add the warm milk, oil and Mirinda, and beat to combine.
  3. Sift the dry ingredients and add them gradually, folding with a wooden spoon from the bottom up to ensure a smooth, uniform batter.
  4. Grease a cake pan with oil, dust with flour, and pour the Mirinda cake batter into it.
  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top and bottom heat) for about 40 minutes, monitoring until a skewer comes out clean or the cake is set.
