Mahlabia Cake

The Cake: \r\nIngredients:\r\n1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour\r\n1 cup shredded coconut\r\n1 cup melted butter\r\n2 eggs\r\n1/2 cup sugar\r\n1 teaspoon vanilla\r\n1 teaspoon baking powder

\r\n\r\nThe Mahalabia:\r\n3 cups milk\r\n4 tablespoons starch (cornstarch)\r\n1 tablespoon fine semolina\r\n2 tablespoons rose water\r\n1 teaspoon vanilla\r\n\r\n

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1½ cups flour (all-purpose)
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup melted butter
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Cake
- Mahlabia (milk pudding)
- 3 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon fine semolina
- 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
- Preparing the mahlabia cake
- In a glass baking dish, put a little vegetable oil and grease the dish well.
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Then add the butter and continue beating, then add the flour, shredded coconut, and baking powder
- Beat well and set the batter aside....
- Combine the previous ingredients in a saucepan over heat and stir continuously until the mixture thickens and sets.
- Pour the cake batter, reserving a little of the batter aside.
- Spread the mahlabia mixture over the cake.
- Put the reserved cake batter into a piping bag and use decorating tips for cream or simply cut the tip of the bag with a knife or scissors. Pipe the reserved batter over the dish in striped lines across the surface of the mahlabia.
