Oatmeal Cookies with Chocolate Chips

Oatmeal cookies with yogurt and chocolate chips that you can swap for dried fruit if you like. The yogurt makes the cookies extra tender. A delicious, easy recipe to try.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 4 cups quick oats, which become soft in 2 minutes
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 3 cups yogurt
  • 250 g butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup white sugar + 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Or
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon liquid or powdered vanilla

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. First, add the baking soda to 1 cup of the yogurt and let it react for a minute.
  2. Place the oats, flour, baking powder, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl and mix. Then add the reacted baking soda mixture and mix again.
  3. Add the room-temperature butter, then the remaining yogurt gradually, as well as the chocolate chips, and knead until you have a cohesive dough that is neither too soft nor too firm.
  4. Shape the oatmeal cookies and place them on baking trays lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 to 20 minutes, then brown the top for 1 minute as well.

  6. Let them cool well before serving.
  7. Note: The chocolate chips can be replaced with dried fruit cut into small cubes..
