Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 3 cups flour, or 3 and 1/4 cups depending on the type
- 1 cup liquid milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup oil with ghee
- 1 large spoon yeast
- 1 small spoon fennel
- 1 small spoon mahlab
- 1 small spoon anise
Method

- Dissolve the sugar with the warm milk, yeast, and ghee, then add the fennel, anise, and mahlab and mix.
- When the yeast activates, gradually add the flour over the mixture and mix to form a soft dough.
- Leave it to rise for 4 hours.Timers: 240 min
- After the time has passed, shape the milk ka'ak pieces and arrange them on a baking tray, then let them rest for an additional hour.
- Bake the ka'ak in the oven on the rack at medium heat for about 12 minutes only.Timers: 12 min
- Brown the top slightly for just 1 minute.Timers: 1 min
- Remove the ka'ak from the oven and brush the top with cold milk while it is still hot.
- Serve the milk ka'ak once it has cooled to room temperature.
