Date Cake Bracelets

These date-filled cake bracelets are perfect for holidays and special occasions, and they also make a light treat for your children’s school lunchbox. We hope you enjoy this recipe.

Date cake bracelets are a tried-and-true homemade recipe for the tastiest cake you can serve with a cup of tea or coffee!

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • Date paste mixed with a tablespoon of olive oil
  • Two and a half cups flour
  • Half a cup whole wheat flour
  • One and a half teaspoons baking powder
  • Quarter cup sesame seeds
  • One tablespoon nigella seeds
  • One tablespoon kaak spice blend
  • Half a teaspoon ground anise
  • Half a cup vegetable oil
  • Half a cup melted butter (100 g pack)
  • 180 ml drinking yogurt or cultured yogurt
  • One beaten egg

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Knead the dates with a little olive oil and a teaspoon of kaak spice blend.
  2. Add the dry ingredients together and mix well. Make a well in the center and add the oil and butter, then rub with your hands until well combined and silky in texture.
  3. Add the yogurt and egg and continue kneading well. Let the dough rest for about five minutes, then start working with it.
  4. Take a portion of the dough and roll it out very thinly. Fill it with dates, roll it up, and shape it into bracelets.
  5. Place the cake bracelets on a baking tray, set the tray on the middle rack, and turn on the oven from the bottom until they start to color, then from the top.
  6. The bracelets do not need a long time in a preheated hot oven. About 10 to 12 minutes at most.
