Ingredients

  • Square puff pastry sheets
  • Cupcake molds
  • Melted butter, for brushing the puff pastry and the molds
  • Ashta qaimar
  • 5 cups powdered milk
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 small cup white vinegar
  • 1 container qaimar or ready-made ashta
  • How to prepare the ashta:

Method

  1. Brush the cupcake molds with butter, and brush the puff pastry on both sides, then place them in the molds…
  2. Place the puff pastry cups in a hot oven on the middle rack at the highest temperature until the bottoms are golden brown.
  3. Then brown the cups from the top as well. Let them cool slightly, then add a little of the ashta or qaimar filling inside each puff pastry cup.
  4. Place the puff pastry cups filled with ashta in the refrigerator until set.
  5. Place the milk and water in a small pot over low heat.
  6. When the milk begins to boil, reduce the heat and add the small cup of vinegar... A curd-like layer will begin to separate from the liquid. Strain it, then mix in one container of qaimar ashta, or two containers depending on the quantity.
  7. When serving the puff pastry cups with ashta, drizzle them with syrup and sprinkle with pistachios.
