Easy Eish El Saraya

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 3 tablespoons starch (cornstarch)
  • toasted bread slices
  • ground pistachios for garnish
  • Caramel
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Dissolve the starch in cold water together with the milk mixture and set aside.
  2. Place the sugar on the stove and cook, stirring, until it caramelizes.
  3. Add 1 1/2 cups water to the caramelized sugar and stir to dissolve the caramel.
  4. Dip the toast in the caramel mixture and arrange the toast in the base of a baking pan or serving plate.
  5. Place the milk mixture on the stove and stir until it boils.
  6. Pour the milk mixture over the toast and let the Aish el Saraya cool to room temperature.
  7. Garnish with ground pistachios and serve.
