Successful Honeycomb Dough
Honeycomb bread with a light, tender dough... Enjoy it for breakfast, or fill it with dates or chocolate for a sweet treat! Especially since its shape is so appealing to kids, they won’t put up a fight when it’s time to eat!

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups liquid milk
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- Filling
- Dates
- or
- Cheese
- Za'atar
- Chocolate
- Topping
- 2 tablespoons liquid milk
- 2 tablespoons oil
- Sugar
- Sesame seeds or nigella seeds for garnish

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix all the ingredients except the flour... Mix well, then add the flour and knead well for at least 10 minutes until you get a soft dough, not too firm. You can add a little milk if the dough is too stiff, as the amount of liquid depends on the type of flour.Timers: 10 min
- Let the dough rise for at least 2 hours, depending on the temperature.Timers: 120 min
- Shape the dough into balls of a suitable size for honeycomb bread, fill them as desired with chocolate, any kind of cheese, or dates, seal the balls, shape them again, and arrange them in a baking tray greased with a little oil.
- Let it rise again for 30 minutes to 1 hour.Timers: 30 min, 60 min
- Brush the top before baking with milk, oil, and sugar... or mix them together and pour over the top of the tray.
- Garnish with sesame or nigella seeds and bake the honeycomb bread in a hot oven until cooked through and the top is golden.
- You can add a little cold syrup on top immediately after baking.
