Puff pastry with pastry cream... a very easy recipe for a delicious dessert with little effort
Ingredients
- Ready-made puff pastry
- Pastry cream:
- 3 cups liquid milk
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon butter

Method
- Cut the pastry and bake it in the oven at 200°C for just a few minutes until it becomes golden, watching closely.
- Let it cool well at room temperature, and prepare the pastry cream (crème pâtissière).
- Mix all the pastry cream ingredients except the butter; stir them while cold.
- Place them on the heat, stirring until they boil and thicken.
- Add the butter and stir until it melts, then remove from the heat.
- Pour the cream into a wide dish and cover it with food-grade plastic wrap so a skin does not form on the surface.
- Let them cool well, then put them in the fridge to chill thoroughly as well.
- Then fill the puff pastry with the pastry cream and serve the dessert immediately; you can also keep them in the fridge until serving.
