How to Make Turkish Delight

How to make Turkish delight at home in an easy recipe. Once you can prepare this version easily, you can later create any flavor you like for your own Turkish delight.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet lemon-flavored Jell-O, 100 g
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 tsp citric acid
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • yellow food coloring (a pinch if powdered and 10 drops if liquid)
  • 1/2 tsp mastic, ground with sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups water

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. We start with the dry ingredients first.... Put the Jell-O, cornstarch, sugar, citric acid, salt, and food coloring in a deep bowl and mix well. Then add the water and stir well until the ingredients dissolve and you have a smooth mixture.
  2. Put the mixture over the heat and keep stirring until it reaches its first boil.... Add the mastic and the sugar, ground together, and continue stirring for 10 minutes after boiling.
    Timers: 10 min
  3. Grease a tray with oil, pour in the mixture, and leave it for several hours to cool and set. Then dust it with cornstarch and cut it as desired....
