How to Make Muhallabia (Milk Pudding)
Muhallabia — a very easy, quick-to-make milk pudding. Serve topped with nuts and syrup, or add sugar to the pudding while cooking instead of serving with syrup. Kids love it.

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 5 cups water
- 2 cups powdered milk
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons butter
- A splash of orange blossom water
- 2 cups sugar — optional
- Syrup (qater or shireh) for serving
- Nuts for garnish

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- First mix the milk and cornstarch with a little cold water and stir quickly until they dissolve, so the mixture doesn't clump if we add the water all at once.
- Add the remaining water, then place the muhallabia mixture over the heat, stirring constantly.
- When the mixture heats up and becomes thick, add the butter, vanilla, and orange blossom water, and stir until the butter melts and the mixture is uniform, then remove from the heat.
- Pour the muhallabia into glasses.
- When it cools, garnish with nuts and serve with syrup.
