Chicken Rice Recipe
A delicious chicken and rice dish that's perfect for any occasion. Try the chicken rice using the method in this recipe, and learn how to properly brown the chicken. You can also add ground meat to the rice if you like. Bon appétit!
Ingredients

- Whole chicken or fryer (small chicken)
- 1 small dry onion
- 3 cups basmati rice
- Vegetable oil or ghee
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon baharat (seven-spice mix)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Rubbing the chicken
- 1 clove crushed garlic
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon yogurt
- A pinch of black pepper
- A squeeze of lemon
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Simmer the chicken with aromatics of your choice such as bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, allspice, and cloves, or whole cloves, and onion.
- Meanwhile, fry a finely chopped onion in a little oil or ghee until softened. Add the washed and drained rice on top and stir. Sprinkle the spices and mix, then add the chicken cooking water at a ratio of 2 cups water for every 1 cup of rice. Let the rice come to a boil, then simmer until tender.
- In another bowl, mix the minced garlic with the tomato paste, olive oil, yogurt, lemon juice, and pepper, and brush the chicken pieces with this marinade.
- Bake the chicken in the oven until browned.
- Pour the rice onto a large serving dish, place the chicken pieces on top, then garnish with nuts, peas, and parsley to taste.
