Ingredients

- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 cup lukewarm milk
- 2 tablespoons red food coloring
- 2 1/2 cups flour + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 tablespoon baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
- Frosting
- A sachet of powdered whipping cream mix
- 1/2 cup cold milk
- 2 pieces Kiri cheese or any cream cheese
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the butter with the sugar until smooth, then add the eggs one at a time with the vanilla and salt, continuing to beat.
- Add the vinegar, lukewarm milk, and red food coloring and beat.
- Stir in the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and baking soda and continue mixing until the batter is completely combined.
- Pour the batter into a pan greased with butter and dusted with flour, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 35 minutes or according to your oven.Timers: 35 min
- Turn off the bottom oven element and switch on the top (broil) for 7 to 10 minutes only.Timers: 10 min
- Let the cake cool thoroughly at room temperature and prepare the frosting in the meantime or ahead of time.
- Whip the powdered cream mix with cold milk until the cream thickens.
- Add the Kiri cheese and continue whipping until fully combined.
- Fill the cake with the frosting, chill in the fridge until set, and serve cold or decorate with additional frosting.
