Milk Toast Loaf
A soft milk toast loaf — one of the best breads for cheese slices or jam. Once you bake it at home you'll keep making it. Try this reliable recipe.

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 medium tablespoon yeast
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of sugar
- 3/4 cup liquid milk
- Butter for brushing the top

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Knead all the ingredients together; you will get a sticky dough that may cling to your hand.
- Let it rest for 30 minutes.Timers: 30 min
- After resting, lightly oil a rectangular loaf pan and place the dough inside.
- Let it rest another 30 minutes so it rises in the pan.Timers: 30 min
- Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C. When the loaf starts to brown, sprinkle a little water on it to keep it soft.
- Leave it in the oven a few more minutes until it reaches the desired color.
- Remove the milk toast loaf from the oven and immediately brush the top with a little butter for shine and softness.
