Chocolate Honeycomb Bread

Chocolate honeycomb bread can be served for breakfast or as a dessert. Here is the recipe in full detail. You’ll definitely love it because the dough stays soft, and the kids will ask for it again and again.

Ingredients

Start here, then move straight into the method.

  • 1 kilo flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 cups warm milk (approximate amount, as needed)
  • Or powdered milk dissolved in water
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Chocolate for the filling (pieces or spreadable)
  • Brushing the top
  • 1/2 cup liquid milk
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee

Method

Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.

  1. Put the sugar, yeast, yogurt, 2 cups of the milk, and the egg together in a bowl and whisk well
  2. Add the oil and whisk again
  3. Start adding the flour gradually and knead, then add the remaining milk and knead
  4. Stop adding milk when the dough comes together
  5. Knead well until you get a smooth dough, then add the butter and knead again
  6. Cover the dough with plastic wrap, then a cloth, and let it rise....
  7. After the time has passed, divide the dough into medium-sized balls
  8. Flatten each one in the palm of your hand and fill it with a good amount of chocolate, then shape it into a ball
  9. Grease a baking tray lightly with oil and arrange the balls next to each other, leaving some space between them because they will double in size after baking
  10. Let the dough rise again before baking
  11. Brush the top with the milk and instant coffee mixture, then place the tray in a hot oven on the rack below the middle at 200°C, turning on both top and bottom heat
  12. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the chocolate honeycomb bread turns golden on both sides
    Timers: 25 min
  13. Decorate with melted chocolate sauce or as desired and serve the chocolate honeycomb bread warm or cold
