Madame Charlotte Dessert
Who is Madame Charlotte? We know it’s a mix of biscuits and cream, with a lovely aroma, delicious taste, and an incredibly easy preparation... and that’s enough for us :)
Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 2½ cups milk
- ¾ cup sugar
- Half a cup flour
- 1 egg
- A pinch of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon orange blossom water
- A package of plain, unfilled biscuits
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- Shredded coconut (for garnish)
- Using the same ingredients and quantities, prepare a second batch but add cocoa to it so you have two mixtures: one white and one chocolate-colored.
- In a wide, deep serving dish, place a layer of plain biscuits, then a layer of the white mixture. Add a second layer of biscuits and then a layer of the chocolate mixture. Garnish the top with shredded coconut or crushed biscuits, asdesired
Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- We start by mixing some of the ingredients cold. Mix the milk with the sugar and flour until you get a smooth, lump-free mixture. Add the egg and vanilla and mix well. Add the orange blossom water as well, then place the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a boil and begins to thicken. Remove from the heat.
- Using the same ingredients and the same quantities, make a second batch, but add the cocoa so that you end up with two mixtures: one white and one chocolate-colored.
- In a large, deep serving dish, arrange a layer of plain biscuits first, then a layer of the white mixture, followed by a second layer of biscuits and then a layer of the chocolate mixture. Garnish the top with shredded coconut or crushed biscuits, as desired.
