Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup oats
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 cup warm water

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Mix the dry ingredients together, then add the yogurt and water and knead well until you have a fairly soft dough.
- Let the dough rise for 40 to 60 minutes depending on room temperature.Timers: 60 min
- When risen, press the dough lightly to remove air and shape the loaf for the toast pan.
- Repeat the pressing and shaping two to three times.
- When the dough has rested, roll it into a rectangle sized to fit your loaf pan, roll up and place in the pan.
- Let the dough rise until it’s about doubled, around one hour.
- After an hour, brush the top with a tablespoon of liquid milk mixed with a tablespoon of milk powder, then sprinkle oats on top.
- Bake the whole wheat and oat toast in a preheated oven at 170°C (338°F) for 50–60 minutes, depending on your oven.Timers: 60 min
