Ingredients
- Mozzarella cheese
- Sliced mushrooms
- Corn
- Sliced bell pepper
- Sauce:
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp seven-spice
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp oregano
- Shawarma:
- 300 g shawarma meat, soaked overnight in 1/2 cup vinegar + 1/2 cup water
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Dough:
- Honeycomb dough ( خلية النحل ) prepared in advance
Method
- Start by preparing the sauce: sauté the onion and garlic in 1/4 cup oil until softened.
- Add the chopped tomato and tomato paste, stir, then add the water, spices, and oregano. Simmer until the tomato has cooked through.
- Blend the mixture in a blender, return it to the pot, and cook until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth.
- Drain the shawarma meat from the vinegar and water, rinse, then sauté in a skillet over heat until the liquid evaporates.
- Add the spices, salt, and soy sauce and cook the meat until done.
- Roll out the dough on a baking tray and bake for 3 minutes just until it sets (par-bake).Timers: 3 min
- Spread a layer of sauce over the par-baked crust, then sprinkle some mozzarella over the sauce.
- Top with mushrooms, corn, bell pepper, and the shawarma meat.
- Finally, sprinkle more mozzarella over the top.
- Return the tray to the oven for 15 minutes or until the crust is golden. Serve the shawarma pizza immediately while hot.Timers: 15 min
