Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- a pinch of salt
- 3 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or small chopped chocolate
Method
- Place 1/2 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1/4 cup cornstarch and a pinch of salt in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir well to prevent lumps, then gradually add the milk while continuing to stir until the mixture is well combined.
- When the mixture begins to boil and thicken slightly, add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or lemon zest (depending on what’s available).
- Remove the pan from the heat and add 1/2 cup chocolate chips or small chopped chocolate, stirring quickly until the chocolate is completely melted.
- Pour the pudding into serving glasses, cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming, and place the glasses in the refrigerator for some time until the pudding is fully set before serving.
- For decoration, choose according to personal taste and what you have available—whipped cream, chocolate shavings, cherries, etc.
