Delicious Custard Biscuits

Ingredients
Start here, then move straight into the method.
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup instant custard powder
- 1/2 cup powdered (confectioners') sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening or butter
- 1 egg
- Vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Method
Follow the cooking sequence without leaving the page.
- Sift together the dry ingredients, then rub them with the shortening or butter until crumbly.
- Add the egg and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.Timers: 15 min
- After chilling, shape the custard biscuits. Use a small cake mould or cookie stamp to form each piece.
- Place the pieces on a baking tray, spaced slightly apart.
- Bake for about 10 minutes until the bottoms are lightly browned, then turn on the oven's top heat briefly so the tops dry without taking on a red color — they should remain yellow.Timers: 10 min
- Serve the biscuits cold at room temperature
