Easy namoura— a tried-and-true homemade recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups semolina
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar syrup (qater/shira)
- 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
- 1/2 cup melted ghee (samna)
- 2 cups plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Method
- Mix all the ingredients together; you will get a soft dough. Let it rest for two hours.
- Place the dough in a baking pan and smooth the surface. Turn on both bottom and top heat at the same time, then place the pan into the hot oven at 200°C.
- When the edges brown and the easy namoura becomes golden, pour the cold syrup over it.
- Set it aside to cool completely before cutting and serving.
- Garnish the easy namoura with nuts as desired.
- Mix two large cups of sugar with one cup of water and one teaspoon of lemon juice.
- Put them in a pot over heat and let them boil for about 7 minutes.Timers: 7 min
- Add one tablespoon of orange blossom water and remove the syrup from the heat.
