Homemade tahini halawa — a reliable, delicious recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup powdered milk
- 1 cup powdered (fine) sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup tahini (sesame paste)
- 1/4 cup ground pistachios (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Nutella (optional)
Method
- Mix the powdered milk, sugar, and vanilla together. Gradually add 1 cup tahini while kneading with your hands. You may add the ground pistachios at this stage if using.
- Knead until the tahini halawa holds together well and becomes firm.
- In a plastic container, line with cling film/plastic wrap and spread a portion of the halawa. If you want Nutella in the middle, spread it on top of that portion, then place the remaining halawa over it.
- Press it firmly with your hands and refrigerate for 3 hours to set properly.Timers: 180 min
