Musakhan tart baked in puff pastry crust in the shape of a tart… an innovative, superb recipe.

Ingredients:

\r\n

2 large sheets of puff pastry

\r\n

2 boiled chicken breasts

\r\n

seasonings for boiling the chicken

\r\n

8 large dried onions

\r\n

vegetable oil

\r\n

salt to taste

\r\n

black pepper

\r\n

3 tablespoons sumac or to taste

\r\n

1 coffee cup pomegranate molasses

\r\n

1 cup walnuts

\r\n

olive oil

\r\n

\r\n\r\n

Preparation:

\r\n

Simmer the chicken with a little of the seasonings until cooked; you don’t want the seasonings to overpower the Musakhan so that the sumac flavor comes through later.
Finely dice the onions and sauté in a little vegetable oil until they soften well.
Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and sumac over the onions and toss.
Add the chicken breasts, hand-sliced into thin strips, and stir… until the chicken absorbs the sumac flavor well.
Sprinkle with pomegranate molasses, then add roughly chopped walnuts and toss for a while.
Let the filling cool completely before using.
Roll out a layer of puff pastry in the tart pan or on a baking sheet… pierce it with a fork in several places so it doesn’t puff up in the oven.
Spread the filling, then drizzle with a little olive oil.
Cover the filling with another layer of puff pastry, sealing the edges to completely enclose the filling inside.
Brush the surface of the tart or Musakhan pan with a little olive oil.
Dock the surface of the tart with a fork a few times so the puff pastry won’t puff up in the oven.
Bake the Musakhan puff pastry tart in the oven for about 18 minutes over medium heat, or until the puff pastry is cooked.
