Lamb shanks (muzat)4 cups basmati rice1/4 cup vegetable oil3 dry onions, sliced4 garlic cloves, crushed2 tomatoes, sliced2 green and red peppers, sliced1 teaspoon turmeric - 'aqdat safra' (small yellow knot)1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1 teaspoon ground cardamom1 teaspoon ground cumin1 teaspoon curry powder1 teaspoon ground loomi (dried lime)Salt1/2 teaspoon black pepper2 tablespoons tomato paste1/4 cup almonds for garnish1/4 cup raisins for garnishCover the pot and leave it over low heat for 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked.
